Today we celebrate two important saints of the Church. Paul comes to faith through a dramatic conversion, falling to the ground on his way to Damascus to persecute Christians. Peer comes to faith slowly and steadily, sometimes with two steps forward and one back. He is the one who denies the Lord three times, then confesses his faith thrice. Regarding their complementary missions, Peter is the apostle of the Jewish Christians, while Paul is the apostle to the Gentile Christians. (sourcebook). I find it very comforting that I am not the only one whose faith journey has not been perfect. Thank you, Lord, for being so mighty and merciful, and for being patient with us as we grow in faith and love. May all I do be according to your will, and for your glory! Amen.

July, devoted to the Precious Blood of Jesus
“O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!” Prayer from the Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, 187 (Divine Mercy Chaplet)
By Fr. Angelo Casimiro, MIC
July has long been designated the month dedicated to the Precious Blood of Jesus in the Liturgical calendar of the Church — for good reason.
Devotion to the Precious Blood has deep historical roots in the Church, dating back to the early centuries of Christianity. This devotion gained prominence over time, leading to the establishment of the Feast of the Most Precious Blood (formerly on the first Sunday of July) in the liturgical calendar.
Designating July as the month dedicated to the Precious Blood provides believers with a specific period to deepen our devotion to Jesus’ sacrifice and to reflect on the salvific power of His Blood. It is seen as the ultimate expression of God’s love and mercy, as it was freely given for the forgiveness of sins and the salvation of souls.
Watch for more in the coming weeks on the Precious Blood of Jesus.
The Sacred Heart BBQ Chicken Dinner was a success again this year. Paul Davy has submitted the final report.

There were 377 tickets sold and 7 individuals received free dinners. Congratulations on another delicious BBQ!
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TOMBSTONE CLEANING
The Knights would like to thank those who supported our 2nd annual Tombstone Cleaning effort.

"Special thanks to two parishioners who covered the cost of cleaning five Tombstones of people they do not know. And we are pleased to say that we cleaned two others at our discretion and the statue of the Blessed Virgin at the entrance. We will be doing this again. If you would like to get on our list for next year, just let me know. Special thanks to Mike Baril, Chairman of our Cemetery Board, for the water. John McAuley - 613.925.5718, jmcauley639@gmail.com
SCAM ALERT (AGAIN)

Please DO NOT OPEN or REPLY to these messages. They are not from Father Ben. If you are not sure, please contact Linda or leave a message on the Rectory phone and we will get back to you.

Some of our parishioners have not watched the Chosen yet. While it is not a Catholic production, and it does take some liberties with artistic license, there are many very meaningful scenes and the actor who portrays Jesus does an incredible job of interpreting the emotions that Jesus might have had when he was with his disciples.
Enjoy this little clip.

The Franciscans: Is God Calling You?
The Gospel and the “following of Jesus Christ” were not idealistic but rather “dynamic values” for St. Francis and his followers. People inspired by the Gospel values that they saw in Francis wanted to follow him. These values are the substance of Franciscans today: the Poor Clares, the Secular Franciscans (for women and men, single or married) and of the Friars. Is God “calling” you or “inviting you to be a part of the Franciscan mission? Order? Please send an email to Friar Reto Davatz at FrRDavatz@archkingston.ca.

This week's prayer
Almighty and gracious God,
you sent your Son into the world
as the Good Shepherd and Saviour of your people.
May the example of Peter and Paul continue
to inspire others to imitate your compassionate love.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.
Amen.

We pray for our nation, Canada, that God's grace will overcome all hatred, immorality and injustice that perverts the will of God. We are called to pray fervently for our country, our leaders and our fellow citizens. Scripture reminds us that “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (
2 Chronicles 7:14). Let us approach God in humility, asking Him to restore and bless our nation, to pour out His mercy, and to guide us back to righteousness.
We pray for God’s wisdom for our leaders, discernment for our lawmakers, and courage for those who defend truth and justice. We pray for peace to overcome division and for love to dissolve hatred. May the Holy Spirit work within the hearts of all Canadians, stirring us all toward compassion for each other with unity and a shared pursuit of goodness. We pray that our country turns away from any paths of darkness and seeks the light of Christ. As Paul encourages us in
1 Timothy 2:1–2, let us “pray for all people,” including those in authority, “that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
As we intercede for Canada, let us cherish that God is sovereign over all powers and principalities, over every government and authority. He alone can change hearts and transform lives, bringing healing where it’s needed most. We pray with confidence, knowing that God hears the cries of His people and is mighty to save. Jesus also calls us to love our neighbour as ourselves (
Matthew 22:39), so let us pray earnestly and with compassion for every soul, even those we may see as adversaries, trusting that God’s love can reach and renew them. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
"For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations." ~
Psalm 22:28
O Sacrament most holy,
O Sacrament divine!
All praise and all thanksgiving,
Be every moment thine.
O Lord, I am not worthy
That thou should'st come to me;
But speak the word of comfort,
My spirit healed shall be.
